Isn't the never failing or faltering grace of God to us amazing! Often times in killing my sin I look into the heart of the law and I want to say "NO!" Then, I turn and look into the heart of the world and say the same.
Only when I look at the cross and see God's booming "NO!" to sin and passionate "YES!" to me do I begin to understand what his law really is. It's the true character of God, that is, the character of the one who said "YES!" to me. It's the path that we as believers tred when he says, "Follow me."

I enjoyed reading your post, particularly the way in
which you describe the nature of the Trinity as unified.
Often times, I think we, as reformed Christians who believe firmly in substitutionary atonement, can read the mission of God as one of discordance -- Such as seeing the Father demanding justice and the Son acting in grace. As a result God can become either primarily a god of conflict in his inner being or an god whose nature is primarily one of wrath. But, in the most Biblical sense the Mission of God to save his people is one of unity in the persons of the Trinity (take for example the high priestly prayer in John 17). Thus, atonement doesn't just satisfy the wrath of God, but also satisfies his love for us.
Just some thoughts!
Take Care and enjoy the Father!

"This is real faith: believing and acting obediently regardless of circumstances or contrary to evidence. After all, if faith depended on visible evidence, it wouldn’t be faith. 'We walk by faith, not by sight,' the apostle Paul wrote."
I see honoring the Lord's Sabbath the same way - regardless of contrary evidence (the imagined joy of doing our own things) by faith we obey and are surprised by joy!

Great comments and insight into this passage. I love your comments on verses 18-19. May the Lord grant us all this attitude toward our time on this earth.

I just finished listening to your Bible study this morning. Very clearly stated and thoughtful - I am looking forward to our blessed hope and looking forward to the appearing of our God and Savior, Christ Jesus

I agree that it is a good thing to fellowship with the bretheren. Sometimes our family obligations will require our attention but if we find the company of fellow believers tedious we might do well to ponder our future common eternity with them.
