Call to Worship July 19 2015

We worship our God who manifests His grace by making dead sinners into new creations. He displays His grace in the present, but the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness will be seen in the ages to come. The riches and kindness are in Christ Jesus. We have nothing to offer for grace, but God gave it freely to those He chose before time began. Even the grace bestowed on us negates our ability to boast because it is in Christ Jesus. It is Christ who took on flesh, lived perfectly according to God’s law, He alone shed His blood and died a sinner’s death. Therefore, we are God’s workmanship. We were chosen by Him, saved by His covenant completed through the person and work of His Son, and made new by His Spirit who sustains us in perseverance to the very end. We are His workmanship created for good works, works enabled by the indwelling Spirit. Our good works do not save us, but they are the result of God saving us by His grace. Give all praise and honor to the one God in three persons, blessed Trinity, for our boasting is not in ourselves, but in God alone. Soli Deo Gloria!
